131. Frank Limon

After working 35 years at California Polytechnic State University of San Luis Obispo, Frank Limon was looking forward to retirement. He had one year of retirement in, when on January 16th, 2017 he received news that changed the course of his life. He had been feeling ill since August 2016 but didn’t know what it was. He had lost some weight and had a persistent cough. In December, he went to the doctor and they said that he was anemic. Because of his symptoms they scheduled a CT scan and discovered on January 17, 2017 that Frank had stage 4 renal cell metastatic carcinoma (kidney cancer). Frank took it to prayer and chose to make every effort to maximize my chances of beating this diagnosis. Frank went through diet changes and surgery, but the cancer had spread to his lungs. In April of 2018 he underwent surgical removal of a portion of the right lung and is presently in the recovery mode.

Frank’s faith in God is carrying him and he is pressing through. A lifelong Raider fan, His wish is to attend a Raider’s game with his wife, who has been by his side and who continues to be a strength to him. Frank says “After receiving this news, we changed many plans and basically brought our life to a standstill. But at this point we are no longer cancelling anything. I have made a commitment to enjoy each day of my life and to continue contending for my healing and recovery. I am blessed to have the support of my wife, my children and grandchildren.”

Frank Limon’s wish has been granted and he and his wife will go to Oakland Raiders home game on November 11, 2018 and will also have on-field passes. This will be the day before their 24th wedding anniversary!

Thank you so much for making this trip possible we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Being on the field was so cool. We were able to view our team up close and personal. Here are a few pics of our wonderful day at the raider game. Nick, the Raider representative, was a great host to us, while we were on the field.

Thanks so much for the Visa card we purchased a room in Oakland to stay the night. My wife was brought to tears when she saw the Bible. We will cherish it and of course read it. Thanks so much. We are praying for you and your ministry. You are truly touching lives and making a difference.

Once again thank you for making dreams come true. May the Lord bless you and this ministry.

Regards
Frank&Susie”

130. Heather Yager

Heather Yager, has stage 4 colon cancer. She has been battling the disease for just over a year and in April and May of this year had lung resections. Subsequent imaging a few months later revealed a new spot on her lung.

Prior to this battle, Heather was a vibrant professional who also acted in community plays. Her first wish was to have a child, and finally at 41 years of age she was blessed with a daughter, Tessa. As you can imagine, this illness has been difficult for a 2-year-old to process – why mom cannot lift her and play with her. Fortunately, Heather has the support of friends and family during this journey. Heather shared with a friend that she feared Tessa would grow up not remembering how much her mother loved her.

Heather’s wish has been granted to take a trip with Tessa that she’ll never forget – a trip to Walt Disney World for six days with her family.

“As I look back on 2018, what Stella’s Wish did for Heather Yager is an absolute bright spot and something for which I am very grateful.  Heather asked that I share the attached photos and video from her trip, and extend her sincere thanks to you.  As you can see, the Yager family had a great time and created memories to last a lifetime.” – friend of Heather

“Tessa and I had an AMAZING time at Disney World! She was excited and in awe of everything – even the bus rides from the resort to the parks! Each time we got off a ride, she was near tears that we weren’t doing it again right away, but then was even more thrilled by the next attraction. As for me, although the days were physically exhausting at times, I am left with a renewed spirit. All in all, it was a perfectly wonderful week that she and I will remember our entire lives! I’m sharing with you a few pictures and a video – they are some of my favorite moments but don’t even begin to convey how awesome this trip was.  This gift you gave my family was so much more than a vacation, and it has meant the world to me. Thank you all!!!” – Heather Yager

127. Julie Riggs

Julie Riggs, from Omaha, Nebraska is a beautiful, hardworking mother who has spent the last five years working as a 911 dispatcher. Julie has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Squamous Cell Carcinoma, which has spread throughout her body through her lymph nodes all the way up to her neck. She was given 2-9 months in March, but is still going as strong as she can, besides being exhausted and short of breath most of the time.

When Julie was healthy, she and her daughter spent 3 years volunteering their time at the local humane society as canine companions, working with dogs from all situations! Julie is a huge animal lover and would love to spend a weekend at Best Friends Animal Society in Kanub, UT, volunteering one more time with all the beautiful animals. Julie talks about going there all the time and maybe staying in one of their cabins or cottages they have, which is a short distance from their rescue center.

Her daughter requested the opportunity to spend a weekend up there together (with her sister as well) to be able to spend time together and make an amazing family memory together. Julie’s wish was granted and she traveled from Nebraska to Utah to the Best Friends Animal Society.

124. Brian Kelleher

Brian Kelleher’s wish has been granted to take his wife and two young boys to attend the Patriots training camp or other event, and meet some of the players. They are tremendous Patriots fans and this is a wish come true. They even ended up being on TV (see last photo).

“I just wanted to take a minute and once again say thank you so much for helping to provide such a wonderful experience for me and my family last night. It was just incredible being on the field before the game, getting to see all the players running around and getting ready for the game was truly a once in a lifetime experience.

Not to mention wonderful seats for the game. This was my two boys’ first Patriots game and they are now completely spoiled. As they should be.

Anyway, thanks again for all that you did. We are truly grateful for your help in making our night a rousing success. And the Pats clobbered the Eagles, which made it even better.

Ever grateful,

Brian Kelleher
